Lake Arrowhead Rotary Art & Festival 2010

As RE/MAX Lakeside Agents, we are pleased to be located in the Lake Arrowhead area. Lake Arrowhead is a beautiful community that has attracted people to its rich variety of natural resources for thousands of years. Today people flock to Lake Arrowhead to enjoy the many recreational activities it has to offer. The summer season in Lake Arrowhead is the best time of year to visit. June plays host to wonderful summer events including The Lake Arrowhead Rotary Art and Wine Festival. You can enjoy fine art and wine at Lake Arrowheads Tavern Bay beach club at this community favorite event. There will be more than 80 artist exhibits including great wine and food. Hours are Saturday June 26th from 10am to 7pm, Sunday June 27 from 11am to 4pm. Jensen’s Market of Lake Arrowhead hosts fundraiser for the Mountains’ Humane Society

From June 12 through June 26, Jensen’s Grocery store located in the Lake Arrowhead area is hosting a fund-raiser in support of the Mountains’ Humane Society.

In these economically challenging times, it can be difficult for some pet owners to feed their furry friends. The Mountains’ Humane Society has established a pet food bank!Purchase a $1 or $5 “paw” during the event & 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to the humane society! Jensen’s will have selected pet items on sale & free dog treat recipes will be available during the event.

In addition, a representative from the Humane Society will be at the following Jensen’s locations, offering pet adoption information, spay & neuter information & pet tag engraving services.

Tax Credit May be extended.

NAR is lobbying Congress for a 90-day extension that would provide relief to eligible buyers who signed contracts by April 30 but are not able to close – through no fault of their own – by the end of this month.

On Thursday (June 10), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid joined with Senators Johnny Isakson of Georgia and Chris Dodd of Connecticut to introduce an amendment to the American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act of 2010 that would extend the closing deadline to September 30.

In good faith, many of these buyers rushed to get under contract by April 30. But under current conditions, especially in a Short Sale or REO transaction, the time frame for closing by June 30 is simply too tight. These buyers aren’t creating the delays that are keeping them from closing; they shouldn’t miss out on the credit because of circumstances beyond their control.

There’s a parallel of sorts between this and the provision that provided a one-year extension to members of the armed forces and certain other federal employees serving overseas. They are eligible for the credit if they’re under contract by April 30, 2011 and close by June 30, 2011. That, too, was an equitable way to address a specific situation.

NAR estimates that between 55,000 and 75,000 buyers who went under contract before April 30 will miss out on the credit without an extension. Giving them a little extra time is simply the right thing to do.
