It’s the time of year when Lake Arrowhead residents are taking advantage of the beautiful weather as they begin projects around the home.The 15th Annual Mountain Home Improvement Expo, in partnership with the Association of Building Contractors and the Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce is just around the corner! If you are looking for a Roofing Contractor, Home Loan or Refinance Help, Landscaper, Realtor, Plumber or maybe you would like to find new ideas for your home; the Home Improvement Expo is the perfect event for you.

Booths will be scattered all around the Lake Arrowhead Village Peninsula located in the middle of great shopping, dining and entertainment. June plays host to wonderful summer events including The Lake Arrowhead Rotary Art and Wine Festival. You can enjoy fine art and wine at Lake Arrowheads Tavern Bay beach club at this community favorite event. There will be more than 80 artist exhibits including great wine and food. Hours are Saturday June 26th from 10am to 7pm, Sunday June 27 from 11am to 4pm. There are countless ways to celebrate 4^th of July in Lake Arrowhead. This annual event draws a huge crowd to Lake Arrowhead, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead for a great 4^th!

       Lake Arrowhead offers a spectacular fire works show, and great events all weekend long. Spectators from all over gather around the shoreline, at the Beach Clubs, Lake Arrowhead Village, on docks, at homes and in boats awaiting Lake Arrowhead’s biggest event of the year. Come early for best parking and viewing locations.

Friday July 2, 2010: Lake Arrowhead Village presents family movie night. The movie “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” will begin at dusk.

Friday July 2, 2010: Lake Arrowhead Village Farmers Market. Certified produce vendors, Fresh bread, and unique Vendors From 4pm – 8pm

Saturday July 3, 2010: Summer Concert Series in Lake Arrowhead Village. Concerts start at 5:30 pm at Center Stage.

Here is a little history behind Lake Arrowhead you may not have already known…

•  The earliest settlements by Europeans in this area were due to the logging industry.
• A narrow gauge steam train ran along what is now “Rim of the World” highway, through Running Springs and into Grass Valley.
• The tower that stands in the middle of Lake Arrowhead is 195 feet high and is an outlet for water to the desert below.
• The business district of Lake Arrowhead was burned to the ground in the late 1970′s and was rebuilt to current status. The pavilion, which stands in the center of the village, was the only original building preserved.
• Many movies have been filmed in Lake Arrowhead, including “Heidi”, “Magnificent Obsession”, “The American President,” “Space Jam,” and “The Parent Trap.”
